As a proud mom and wife, and though my background includes an MBA and a Master’s degree with specializations in marketing, my true spark has always been here: in jewelry, in sparkle, and in everything that radiates light. I am also a lover of baking, I thoroughly enjoy nature, and I’m fascinated by aesthetics in every detail, by the wonders the universe bestows upon us. At KS, each piece is a treasure, meticulously crafted for its beauty, energy, and quality. Our jewelry features superior materials like rich gold plating and 925 sterling silver, adorned with high-quality natural stones and cubic zirconia. Designed to be hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and cadmium-free, our pieces are made for lasting comfort and style.
To maintain their brilliance and extend their lifespan, proper care is essential. Following these guidelines will ensure your treasures shine for years to come.
General Care for All KS Jewelry
- Avoid Direct Contact with Chemicals: Apply perfumes, lotions, sunscreens, and hairsprays before putting on your jewelry. Chemicals in these products, as well as in chlorine, saltwater, and household cleaners, can tarnish metals and dull the sparkle of gemstones.
- Remove During Physical Activities: Sweat, friction, and impacts during exercise, gardening, or other manual tasks can cause scratches and damage. We recommend removing your jewelry to keep it safe.
- Protect from Impacts: While durable, natural stones and zirconia can chip or break if dropped or struck. Settings can also be damaged, potentially loosening a stone.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Sudden temperature changes, such as in saunas or hot tubs, can affect the structure of the jewelry and the integrity of stone settings.
Specific Care: Gold-Plated Jewelry
Our gold-plated jewelry offers the luxe beauty of gold. This rich layer requires special care to preserve its finish.
- Water Exposure: Your jewelry can handle occasional, light contact with water (like washing your hands). However, to prevent accelerated wear and fading of the gold layer, avoid prolonged exposure. We strongly advise removing your jewelry before showering, swimming (in pools or the ocean), or entering hot springs.
- Cleaning: After each wear, gently wipe your piece with a soft, dry cloth (microfiber is ideal) to remove natural skin oils. For a deeper clean, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and dry immediately with a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: To prevent scratching and tangling, store each piece individually in its KS pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box. This keeps different metals from rubbing against each other and maintains their individual luster.
Specific Care: 925 Sterling Silver Jewelry
Sterling silver is a precious metal that naturally tarnishes when exposed to air and humidity. This is normal, and proper care will keep it bright.
- Cleaning: Use a specialized silver polishing cloth to restore shine. For a deeper clean, use the mild soap and water method described above.
- Storage: The best way to prevent tarnish is to store your silver in an airtight container, like a zip-lock bag or a lined jewelry box, away from humidity.

One-Year Manufacturing Warranty
KS offers a one-year warranty on all pieces against manufacturing defects. This covers faults in the product that are a result of the crafting process, such as issues with the plating, clasps, or stone settings upon arrival.
What is NOT covered by the warranty:
- Natural wear and tear from regular use over time.
- Damage caused by failure to follow our recommended Jewelry Care Guide. This includes tarnishing or fading due to exposure to chemicals, water, or sweat.
- Accidental damage, such as scratches, drops, impacts, or breakage.
- Loss of the item or any of its components (e.g., a lost stone).
Important Note on Alterations: Any repair, resizing, or alteration performed by a third-party jeweler will immediately void the warranty. Our jewelry requires specialized handling, and unauthorized work can cause irreparable damage.
How to Make a Claim:
If you believe your item has a manufacturing defect, please contact us at hello@karenspitzerjewelry.com with your order number, a clear description of the issue, and a photo. Our team will assess your claim and guide you through the process. Your original proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
